Chester is home to both the oldest and smallest racecourse in the country, with records of properly organised race meetings dating back to 1511. Situated just outside the old city walls beside the river Dee, it is certainly one of the most attractive. With Chester sitting between Liverpool and Manchester, it regularly commands the second highest attendances in the country.
As well as racing there is an active polo playing community. Equestrian Art exhibits at the major race and polo meetings at Chester including the famous May festival. Our exhibitions can be found in our own marquee adjacent to the main parade ring and in the owners and trainers restaurant.
