Equestrian Art exhibits for the first time at the CLA Game Fair

 Blenheim Palace played host to this year’s CLA Game Fair which annually attracts in excess of 140,000 visitors. Between Friday 22nd July and Sunday 24th these visitors were entertained by a vast array of countryside attractions, events and exhibitions including in excess of 1000 trade stands.

 For the first time Equestrian Art Ltd participated in the event exhibiting the latest works of some of the UK’s leading equine artists.  Over the three days a total of 14 original paintings were sold and many Game Fair visitors were introduced to the work of some of the brightest new British equestrian talents for the first time.

 

Equestrian Art supports Brolley’s ‘Help for Heroes’ at Sussex Polo Club

 On 31st July, Equestrian Art Ltd put on an exhibition of original polo fine art at the Sussex Polo Club under the auspices of Brolley, an organisation which annually holds a charity polo match at the club to raise money for a number of worthy charities.

 

Alasdair Banks wins The Ingleton-Beer Associates Prize at the Society of Equestrian Artists Annual Exhibition 2011

 

At the 2011 SEA Annual Exhibition held at the Mall Galleries in August, Alasdair Banks was awarded The Ingleton-Beer Associates Prize for the ‘Best Horse & Rider’ painting for his submission ‘Duel’, a mixed media painting featuring two racehorses battling it out for victory.

 ‘Duel’ was one of three paintings by Alasdair accepted by the SEA for this year’s exhibition and reflects the growing status and celebrity of the artist.

 

Alasdair Banks signs an exclusive worldwide agency agreement with Equestrian Art Limited to market his original equestrian artwork.

 John Thorley, director of Equestrian Art Limited is pleased to announce that EAL has been chosen by award winning, Olympic equestrian artist Alasdair Banks as sole agent for the exhibition and marketing of his original equestrian artwork both in the UK and internationally.

 Alasdair Banks said, ‘The business relationship between EAL and myself has existed and prospered since 2003.  Now that I am spending more time painting new works to satisfy a growing band of collectors for my expressionist equestrian art, I am pleased to act in partnership with EAL for the promotion and sale of all future work’.

EAL announces a three year exclusive sponsorship agreement with Chester Racecourse to exhibit original contemporary Equestrian Art

John Thorley, director of Equestrian Art Limited, is pleased and proud to announce the agreement of a three year sponsorship deal with Chester Racecourse to hold a series of exhibitions of equestrian fine art at the course throughout the racing and polo calendar.

One of the highlights of this partnership will be the sponsoring of  The Equestrian Art Handicap Stakes over 1 mile and 2 furlongs, which this year will be held at Chester Racecourse on Friday 9th September and which will be featured on Racing UK.

The work of EAL artists feature prominently on the 2011 Injured Jockeys Christmas calendar.


 Paintings by EAL artists Vineta Sayer ASEA and Alasdair Banks feature in the Injured Jockeys Fund Charity Christmas calendar.

 No less than four paintings by Alasdair Banks and three paintings by Vineta Sayer have been chosen by the Injured Jockeys Fund to feature in their popular Christmas calendars.

 The Injured Jockeys Fund is a charitable trust set up to help support elderly racing staff and rehabilitate injured riders.  The Christmas calendar regularly achieves annual sales of 20,000 copies.

 

Alasdair Banks to be the ‘Artist in Residence’ on the EAL stand at the Open Meeting at Cheltenham in November.

 Equestrian Art Ltd are pleased to announce that award winning equestrian artist Alasdair Banks will be visiting the EAL stand in the tented village on Saturday 12th  and Sunday 13th November at the Cheltenham Open Meeting.

 Alasdair will be sketching racing scenes and signing copies of the Injured Jockeys Fund Christmas calendar, which feature images of his racing paintings.  Furthermore a raffle in aid of the IJF and sponsored by Equestrian Art Ltd will be held on the final day’s racing at Cheltenham with one of Alasdair’s paintings being the prize to the lucky winner.

 

Coutts International Polo Weekend at Chester Racecourse

Chester racecourse again played host to the Coutts International Polo weekend on 3rd/4th June, which has become one of the key events in the Cheshire social calendar.  The two day event was blessed with perfect weather and held at the historic Roodee.

In an exciting final the San Miguel team overturned last year’s semi final result to beat the Gibro team to take the trophy and 10,000 pound prize.

Will Hine, a member of the winning San Miguel team , is seen with his wife Heidi and family holding a polo painting by Vineta Sayer ASEA, which he purchased from Equestrian Art Ltd at the event , where EAL were exhibiting for the first time.

Goodwood Racecourse hosts first exhibition by Equestrian Art Ltd during Glorious Goodwood week

EAL was proud and delighted to hold its first exhibition of original equestrian fine art at Goodwood Racecourse for one of the highlight events of the British racing calendar - Glorious Goodwood week.  A number of internationally known equine artists including Neil Cawthorne SEA and Roy Miller AAEA, SEA undertook to paint works which had a special appeal and reference to Goodwood. 

 

The event was blessed with perfect weather and a total of thirteen orignal works of art were snapped up by an enthusiastic membership and racing public.  EAL hope to be returning to Goodwood on the 11th and 12th September to stage another exhibition.  Further details will be provided in due course.

 

Equestrian Art Ltd awards new prize for 'Best Contemporary Artwork' at the 2010 Society of Equestrian Artists Annual Exhibition at The Mall Galleries

In order to stimulate and reward the 'Best in British' contemporary equine art, EAL has set up a new award category in time for this year's annual exhibition of the SEA held at The Mall Galleries in London.  The cash prize of 300 pounds will be awarded annually and was awarded for the first time to Sally Martin SEA, who also won The Cuneo Medal for the most meritorious group of works by a full member of the Society.  John Thorley ASEA, the founder of Equestrian Art Ltd, was pleased and proud to present the prize to Sally at the Private Viewing evening on Tuesday 3rd August.

EAL has been promoting and exhibiting the works of the leading members of the SEA since 2003.  When interviewed at the event, John emphasised the growing emergence, importance and popularity of a more modern approach and style in equestrian art and wanted to help support and encourage this trend in the future.
 

FOUR NEW EVENTS ADDED TO THE EXHIBITIONS CALENDAR

For the first time Goodwood Racecourse will be setting up a retail exhibition area for the whole of 'Glorious Goodwood' week in July.  Equestrian Art Ltd has been invited to participate and will be exhibiting original contemporary art by the UK's foremost equestrian artists.

EAL will also be exhibiting at The British Masters Show Jumping Competition to be held at the Chester Racecourse on Friday 2nd July to Sunday 4th July.

Another new venue will be The Duke of Essex Polo Trophy Charity Match between South America and the UK held at the Gaynes Park Estate, Epping on Saturday 17th July, sponsored by Katie Price and celebrity friends.

National Treasure Offers Racing Club Members the Perfect Memento

Jenny Pitman OBE is known as one of the greatest female trainers in the history of horse racing having won a complete set of English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish Grand Nationals including Aintree twice with Corbiere and Royal Athlete.  Since retiring she has also written two autobiographies and no less than five successful novels.

Mark Pitman, her son, has ridden over 300 winners throughout his racing career and trained more than 220 winners, many at the highest level.

Together Jenny and Mark have combined their formidable talents and experience to form The Jenny & Mark Pitman Racing Club with currently three horses in training and an active and supportive club membership.

To celebrate the club’s success, Martin Williams SEA, one of the UK’s foremost equestrian artists was commissioned to paint two pictures featuring the racing club’s colours, one of which was presented to David Johnson, the club’s major sponsor and to Jenny and Mark at the recent Royal Ascot meeting.

Olympic Hopeful Delivers Knock Out Artwork to Heavyweight Promoter

 Karen Manzi, Head of International Television Sales is seen presenting a painting entitled ‘Title Fight’ by Alasdair Banks to Barry Hearn, Chairman of the Matchroom Sports empire, one of the world’s largest suppliers of sports programming.

Injured Jockeys Fund Chooses Vineta Sayer’s ‘Racing Shadows’ for 2009 Fund Raiser

 

Vineta Sayer ASEA, who is fast developing into a major star of contemporary equestrian art has kindly agreed to allow the Injured Jockeys Fund to use one of her paintings – ‘Racing Shadows’ (pictured) to raise much needed funds this Christmas.

Equestrian Art Ltd helps raise Funds for leading US Charity Polo Support Group


 

EAL again donated a number of original paintings by leading British contemporary equestrian artists to raise funds for injured polo players and support staff at this year’s Outback 40 Goal Challenge held annually at The International Polo Club of Palm Beach, Florida.

The match itself was won in dramatic fashion 12-11 by The Michelob Ultra Team over EFG Bank, the winning goal scored by Mike Azzaro with only 18 seconds left on the clock.

 

 

  

TalkSPORT Radio Host loves a Derby

Graham Beecroft affectionately known as ‘Beeky’ to his legions of listeners on Talk SPORT ‘s breakfast morning radio show lives in the Wirral and is a keen fan of both Liverpool and Everton football clubs.  So when both are playing each other in a classic Merseyside Derby, Beeky, one of the most knowledgeable football pundits on the airwaves, has divided loyalties.

As guest presenter for TalkSPORT at the Cheltenham Festival, Graham visited Equestrian Art Ltd’s stand and was taken by the paintings of Neil Cawthorne SEA, one of the UK’s finest equestrian artists, whose work features in the collections of the HRH Prince of Wales and Paul Mellon.

Although the painting of Neil Cawthorne’s being exhibited at the Festival had already been sold, Graham was able to view other paintings of Neil’s on EAL’s virtual gallery on the web He eventually chose another oil entitled ‘Tattenham Corner’ (illustrated) which embodies all the power and spectacle of another great and even older sporting derby contest – The Epsom Derby.
