Everything that can be said has been said about Jacquie Jones. A supremely gifted illustrator and world renowned equestrian artist, she is one of the enduring characters of the Newmarket racing scene.
Self-taught she sketches and paints with a natural and seemingly effortless ability. Highly contemporary and original her compositions are created in a loose, energetic and expressionist style.
She is equally at ease with watercolours, oils and acrylics. Her compositions are full of colour, energy and emotion but also reflect the elegance of the horses and racing characters she portrays.
Her collectors number sheikhs, legendary racing trainers and British royalty.
In 1997 Jacquie became the first artist in residence at the National Horse Racing Museum in Newmarket. The following year she had her first one woman exhibition at the Park Gallery in London.
She has illustrated many books and starred in her own series on television called ‘Newmarket Woman’.
She is currently the artist in residence to the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket.
